Speaker of parliament in the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Trajko Veljanovski met today the newly appointed ambassador of Albania to Skopje, Petrit Bushati.
The Albanian ambassador said that this meeting discussed the intensification of relations between the two countries.
Speaker of parliament, Veljanovski underlined the parliamentary collaboration between the two countries, by saying that there’s a need to boost up cooperation in different parliamentary levels.
“Both countries have an excellent bilateral collaboration, friendly relations and this collaboration will further continue by realizing new projects and exchanges in different domains”, declared Veljanovski.
This meeting also stressed the importance of highway project linking Kercova to Ohrid and Trebenishta to Qafe Thane, thus linking the two countries.
The meeting also stressed the need to realize the railway project that links the two countries, as part of the Eighth Corridor.
Ambassador Bushati congratulated Mr. Veljanovski on behalf of the authorities in Tirana for his new mandate as speaker of parliament, following the April 27 elections.
“The spirit of parliamentary collaboration can always contribute to overcome pending issues, having the relations between the two countries as a priority”, declared ambassador Bushati.
Bushati said that the Albanian speaker of parliament, Ilir Meta will soon hold an official visit to Skopje. /ibna/
