Authorities in Albania and Greece say that the Trans Adriatic Pipeline giant project will offer more security for the energetic situation in the European continent.
Vice minister of Environment, Olijana Ifti has discussed on issues relating to TAP in Athens with the first vice speaker of the Greek Parliament, Joani Tragaki, who is also Chairman of the Congress Committee on European Issues.
During this meeting (photo), Tragakis and Ifti discussed and exchanged their views on issues of mutual, European and regional interest.
Speaking on the TAP project, Mr. Tragakis said that it will contribute in strengthening European energetic security.
In this framework, the discussions focused on the development of joint priorities in the domain of the Integrated Management of Wastes, Waters and in exchanging experiences on Environmental Audit.
Mr. Tragakis said that now it’s the right time for the two countries to focus into improving bilateral relations, stressing that Greece remains a strong supporter of the perspective of Albania for the EU integration and called on Albania to continue with its efforts in order to be granted the EU candidate status.
Following this meeting, there was a special meeting with heads of the private sector in the domain of recycling in Greece. This meeting stressed the will of both sides for cooperation and investments in the domain of recycling. /ibna/
