A precise timetable for bond purchases of Greek government by the European Central Bank (ECB) cannot be determined, said its governor Mario Draghi, answering to a question of MEP Dimitris Papadimoulis.
Draghi reminds in his written reply that the ECB has accepted once again on June 22 the Greek bonds as collateral for financing the Greek banks.
He also reminds the position of the Governing Council that for the purchase of Greek bonds he will take into account the progress on the analysis and strengthening of Greek debt sustainability.
He also notes the statement by the Eurogroup on 25 May that it examines the implementation of a series of measures to bring the debt on a downward path.
