Three former officials of the Ministry of Interior will be remanded into custody, following a ruling upheld by the Court of Appeal in Skopje.
Goran Grujevski, former official in this ministry, is accused of the wiretapping scandal. Along with Toni Jakimovski, chief of cabinet of the former head of secret services, Saso Mijalkov and another police official, are part of the “Target” and “Fortesa” cases, which have been investigated by the Special Prosecution. These people have ordered the destruction of the surveillance equipment in the Ministry of Interior and the illegal wiretapping of thousands of citizens without a court order.
Meanwhile, this court did not grant the motion of the Special Prosecution to jail former deputy minister Vladimir Pesevski and journalist Dragan Pavlovic-Latas. Instead, these people had their passports seized. /balkaneu.com/
