Thessaloniki: The Greek premier to inaugurate first Local Health Unit

The Greek Prime Minister’s office, announced that on Wednesday, December 2017, Alexis Tsipras will travel to Thessaloniki where he will inaugurate the first Local Health Unit (TOMY) in the Evosmos suburb.

Health Minister Andreas Xanthos will attend the ceremony along with Tsipras, and, after the inauguration of the Unit he will be driven to the area of Pavlos Melas, where, together with the visiting EU Health Commissioner Vytenis Andriukaitis (a heart surgeon himself), will inaugurate a second Local Health Unit.

Later this afternoon, the Health minister will deliver a speech about the importance of the Local Health Units, which, according to the governmental planning, and as far as the 3rd Health District of Macedonia is concerned, there will be 33 (such Units) in total…/IBNA
