The issue of Kosovo is an important one for Serbia and this issue needs to be addressed before the country becomes part of the European Union.
This was said in Belgrade by the Slovak minister of Foreign Affairs, Ivan Korcok.
According to him, the EU is not ready to place itself in the position of the judge between the two countries, in order to solve the problem.
Korcok also said that the EU is expecting Kosovo and Serbia to sign an agreement for the normalization of relations and this agreement should be legally binding for both countries.
Meanwhile, as far as the recognition of Kosovo by Slovakia is concerned, the Foreign minister said that during his visit to Belgrade, he has said that for the time being, Slovakia will not change its current position toward Kosovo.
“We will not block Kosovo’s path, but we do not recognize it as a state. Not because of Serbia, but on a matter of principle”, Korcok said. /balkaneu.com/
