Greece’s Foreign minister, Nikos Dendias, in his address on the programmatic statements of the new Greek government, has highlighted the Cyprus problem as a top national priority and a strategic pursuit of the Greek foreign policy.
“The only way to reach a solution that is mutually acceptable and beneficial for the Republic of Cyprus is to resume negotiations and find a solution on the basis of the UNSC resolutions and the full implementation of the EU acquis”, he said.
He added that the obvious preconditions for the resumption of negotiations is the termination of illegal drilling and explorations and the withdrawal of Turkish ships from Cyprus’ territorial waters and EEZ./ibna
