“In yesterday’s referendum, citizens rejected the Prespa agreement. By refusing to participate in the voting, they expressed their discontent about the hasty and damaging decisions which were taken without national consensus”, was declared by FYROM’s president, Djordje Ivanov in a public address.
According to him “the truth is that the referendum was not successful, therefore do not attempt to change this reality”.
“The low turnout was decisive and the message of the people was clear. The truth is that the referendum failed. Do not play with the will of the people. The 36,6% of those who voted does not represent the will of the people. It’s time to show some responsibility”, said Ivanov, who, during the campaign openly declared that he would boycott the referendum on the name. /ibna/
