This morning, the President of the Republic will attend the reception hosted by the UN Secretary General in honour of the leaders of the States participating in the General Assembly and then attend the opening plenary session of the Assembly, where the UN Secretary General and the President of the General Assembly Abdulla Shahid will speak.
President Anastasiades will then have a bilateral meeting with the President of the General Assembly, followed by a bilateral meeting with the President of Ghana Nana Akufo Addo.
Moreover, at a press conference yesterday, the President said that during his meeting with the UN Secretary General, he will stress that “the terms of reference and resolutions provide the common ground for the resumption of dialogue, not ignoring the work done up to Crans Montana through convergences and agreements reached”, and will also refer to the various alternatives to break the Cyprus impasse./ibna
