The Netherlands has officially demanded the European Union to reinstate the visa regime for Albanian nationals.
In a letter addressed to the European Commissioner for Home Affairs, Dimitris Avramopoulos, The Netherlands has demanded the European Commission to consider the possibility of suspending the visa free travel regime for Albanian citizens.
In this letter, Dutch authorities say that Albanians play a key role in the criminal activities in cities such as Amsterdam and Roterdam.
“Albanian citizens play an important role in organized crime in cities such as Amsterdam and Roterdam, but also in other regions”, the letter says.
The resolution, which demands the reinstatement of the visa regime for Albanian nationals, was adopted by the Dutch parliament on 16 April. /ibna/
