The Czech Republic has ratified the Protocol for NATO membership of North Macedonia

The Parliament of the Czech Republic today ratified the Protocol for NATO membership of the Republic of Northern Macedonia. The session was also attended by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Macedonia, Zoran Zaev.

Zaev said he expressed the pleasure and joy he had at the Czech Parliament today. “I cordially thank the Czech Parliament, the Government and the citizens for their support and I look forward to our NATO membership as soon as possible. I believe that the decision to start accession negotiations in October this year will have a positive impact on the entire Western Balkans region, “Zaev said. According to him, the stability and prosperity of the Western Balkans region is in the interest of the EU.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives in the Czech Parliament, Rade Vondracek, voiced support for North Macedonia’s NATO membership and stressed that it would be a major step for the country’s Euro-Atlantic aspirations.
