President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci declared that the institutions of Kosovo are working for the full normalization of the situation in the North of Mitrovica.
Thaci made these comments during his stay in Mitrovica, where he has visited the “Isa Boletini” university in this city.
“Now we have police officers of Kosovo, customs officers, administration and other institutions present in the north of Mitrovica. For the first time we have organized local government elections based on the laws of Kosovo. Now, those people who placed barricades, work in the institutions of Kosovo. I can say that dialogue in Brussels has had its effect and have made Kosovo a better place, but we must do more and reach a wider political agreement which would lead to better neighboring relations”, the president declared.
Thaci also talked about the demarcation with Montenegro and the creation of Kosovo’s Armed Forces.
“Demarcation is an issue which must join the entire political spectrum in the country, in order to finalize this extraordinary process. I’m sure that Kosovo is ready for the creation of Kosovo Armed Forces. Things are going in the right direction and this Euro Atlantic agenda must be a unifying agenda”, Thaci said. /balkaneu.com/
