Kosovo President Hashim Thaci will be attending the 56th Munich Security Conference, emphasizing the need to preserve the US interest, but also that of the EU and its Member States towards Kosovo, but also towards peace and stability across the region of the Western Balkans.
The Kosovo President noted that the Munich Conference was one of the world’s leading forums for the discussion of global and local security issues, stressing that it was very important to work to overcome the point at which relations with the EU are threatened by delays in the decision on visa liberalization.
“Kosovo, as well as the entire Western Balkans region, needs a genuine and open dialogue with the EU. I want to make it clear to everyone that there cannot be an alternative or a provisional solution for the region by the EU”, Hashim Thaci underlined, noting that a stable solution that brings peace, stability, growth and prosperity meant the full participation of all Western Balkan countries in the EU.
He also added that during his stay in Munich he would be meeting with officials from states and international organizations, including US Ambassador to Germany Richard Grenell, who is the special envoy of US President Donald Trump for the Pristina-Belgrade dialogue. /ibna
