Deputy PM and Foreign Minister of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, has considered the participation of Kosovo nationals in Middle East conflicts as worrying.
During the debate in parliament in relation to the approval of the law which prohibits the citizens of Kosovo to participate in foreign conflicts, Thaci said that the number of young people registered in these conflicts is high compared to the total number of population in the country.
“These people are a concern for our national security. Upon their return, they pose a threat by importing radical ideologies and violent means through which they can create potential terrorist elements”, declared Thaci.
Thaci invited MPs to vote this bill, because according to him, it’s a modern one. Thaci also mentioned the participation of Kosovo in the framework of the alliance against terrorism, among other western countries.
Meanwhile, leader of Self Determination, Albin Kurti has criticized the bill for the prevention of Kosovo nationals in foreign conflicts.
Kurti said that the bill is not in line with the values of Albanian people. He said that terrorist acts are not fought with panic laws.
According to him, the difference between ISIS and Kurds must be made.
“We need a strong anti-terror law and a list of prohibited organizations”, said Kurti.
Leader of SD said that this government doesn’t want to fight terrorism in Kosovo, but it’s trying to do this as far away as possible. /ibna/
