Bombing attacks, probably by suicide bombers, shook Ankara. Initial information speaks of 86 dead and 167 injured.
The terrorist attack occurred at 10 am next to the train station of the Turkish capital. At that time a large group of the pro-Kurdish party HDP supporters were heading to the downtown to participate in the rally “Peace and Democracy” to be held at noon.
The Turkish police has blockaded the area as it fears for other attacks. Suspicions are directed at the jihadists, since in July in Suruc of southeast Turkey, a suicide bomber member of the Islamic State had made an attack on a rally of Kurds who were meant to go to Kobani. Thirty-four people lost their lives and at least 100 others were killed from the attack.
