Pristina, June 18, 2013
Negotiations between Pristina and Belgrade on issues of energy and telecom have ended without any success. Meanwhile, from a technical level, the talks may pass into a level of prime ministers.
“Serbia has agreed for Kosovo to have its own state telephone prefix, but Serbia has demanded Kosovo to apply at ITU for this and this has been objected by us. We have also presented the option that if another state can apply on the account of another state, then Albania must do this”, said deputy Prime Minister Edita Tahiri who heads the delegation from Kosovo during the technical talks.
Meanwhile, negotiations have failed entirely on the issue of energy. According to her, this failure has taken place because Serbia has demanded the licensing of an operator that will exclusively provide services with the Serb community and according to her, this “ethnic distinction” is unacceptable. /ibna/
