A representative of the party that represents the rights of the Tcham community, has been appointed as deputy minister of Foreign Affairs in the governing cabinet of PM Edi Rama.
The government decision appointed Mr. Halil Hyseni of the Party for Justice, Integration and Unity (PDIU) as deputy minister of Foreign Affairs.
Earlier this spring, when PDIU joined the left wing coalition ahead of the local government elections, that were won by a wide margin by the majority, the prime minister had declared that he would not include in the governing cabinet any parties besides those that formed the 2013 coalition, when the general elections were won.
This decision comes at a time when an intense debate is taking place in Albania as to whether changes in the governing cabinet are needed.
PM Rama insists that no minister will be changed, while SMI says that there’s a need for “new impulses”. /ibna/
