Although several difficult agreements have been signed during talks between Kosovo and Serbia, the difficulties are not over.
This is said in the report of the “Group for Balkan” NGO, which presents the findings and recommendations for the talks between Kosovo and Serbia.
“The easy part is over, the difficult part starts now”, said Marko Prelec, executive director of the NGO.
According to him, the success or the failure in the normalization of relations between Pristina and Belgrade and the integration of Serbs in Kosovo, depends on the actions and decisions that will be taken in the future.
Naim Rashiti, director of the project, said that the delays in the implementation of agreements can cause incidents.
“Further delays may lead to a new status quo and will delay the normalization of relations. They may also cause a situation which could provoke incidents”, Rashiti says.
He says that politically related obstacles must be removed. According to him, the association of Serb communes must serve the communities and not Belgrade.
This group also recommends a full integration of communes, which requires action from both countries. /ibna/
