Speaker of Albanian Parliament, Ilir Meta is in Switzerland where he’s holding a number of meetings with leaders of this state.
As chairman of a parliamentary delegation, Mr. Meta was received in Berne by the President of the Swiss Parliament, Stephane Rossini. The two speakers said that Albania and Switzerland enjoy close relations of friendship between them, which must be further consolidated through intensification of cooperation between the two parliaments.
Mr. Meta said that Switzerland represents a very important partner for Albania and inter-parliamentary relations of all levels will contribute in increasing the quality of this cooperation.
Meta expressed the will of the Albanian side to welcome Swiss investments, especially in the framework of TAP project and gasification of Albania, but also in other domains such as agriculture, energy and tourism.
“We praise the Swiss support. Albania has a lot to learn and benefit from the Swiss expertise and assistance. Especially in these moments of economic and social development of the country and the region”, Meta said.
Speaker of Parliament, Meta, also said that Albania can benefit from the successful Swiss model of the efficiency of local government, which according to him, best serves the needs and priorities of the community where citizens live.
The President of the Swiss Parliament, Stephane Rossini spoke about the Albanians living in Switzerland. He said that the big Albanian community in Switzerland offers strong ties between the two countries thus giving way to exchanges in people and trade between Switzerland and Albania. In this aspect, Mr. Rossini reconfirmed the will of the Swiss side to further boost cooperation with Albania in many domains. /ibna/
