Amidst a dark political climate with different opinions on the referendum and the question who betrayed the Republic of Srpska’s interests, the “Swisslion Takovo” factory brought good news for about 350 unemployed in the city of Trebinje.
The company’s owner and general manager, Rodoljub Draskovic, held on Monday press conference in order to announce the beginning of production in the newly builded food factory “Trebinje 2”. Draskovic said to the media that during the first phase the factory will employ about 350 new workers, adding that the installation of three new production lines is ongoing. One of them will start next week and about twenty ingenieurs are already undergoing training.
Draskovic emphasised that pilot production in the children food factory is scheduled to begin on November 1, while the factory for processing cocoa beans will begin to work until end of this year. The third production line will make honey cakes.
“The cost of construction works on “Trebinje 2” factory, without the installation of equipment, is about 4,5 million BAM (2,25 million Euro). The Project is financed from own resources, said Draskovic and added that the total of “Swisslion Takovo” investments in this part of BiH is near 100 million BAM (50 million Euro).
Speaking about the plans for future development of the company, Draskovic said that they will not stop the capacity expansion and production on Trebinje. He announced that the company will begin production of healthy food with the world most modern technology.
The company will open an education center for ingenieurs and it will be the best institution of this type in South East Europe.
“We will educate our own employees and all of those who are on the Employment Bureau will have a chance. If they prove their worth they will stay in our system”, said Draskovic.
He also said that “Swisslion Takovo” will open the factories in neighboring cities Nevesinje, Gacko, LJubinje and Bileca.
