Albanian ethnics invaded the streets of Tetovo and Gostivar last night in order to celebrate the victory of the Swiss football national team against Honduras in the Brazil 2014 world cup.
The reason for these celebrations relates to the fact that Admir Mehmedi, from Gostivar and Blerim Xhemaili from Tetovo, are two Swiss football players, which last night, won 3 goals to nil and the goals were scored by the Albanian-Swiss national, Xherdan Shaqiri.
The celebrations have continued in the squares of the city with Albanian and Swiss flags. Shpresim Tahiri, a fan of the Swiss team has expressed his great joy over this victory.
“I’m a Swiss fan, because our fellow man, Admir, plays there. He has promised us goals and he was the first goal scorer for Switzerland in this world cup”, says Shpresim Tahiri.
Brazil 2014 is also being followed a lot in FYR Macedonia and special attention is paid to the matches played by Switzerland, as Albanians from FYROM play for it. /ibna/
