UEFA has approved the request of the Macedonian Football Association for the match between FYROM and Albania to be played in the stadium of Strumica and not in “Telekom Arena” in Skopje. This match will be played in September as part of the Russia 2018 World Cup qualifiers, while the decision to play the match in the Eastern city has been made for security reasons.
This request, which was made by the Macedonian Football Association was also backed by the Albanian Football Association.
Meanwhile, the Red and Black Fans of the Albanian national team said that they are not happy with this decision, because Strumica’s stadium doesn’t offer the capacities of the Skopje stadium. The Skopje stadium has a capacity of 33,460 seats, while “Mladost” stadium in Strumica has only 6.500 seats. /balkaneu.com/
