US ambassador to Kosovo, Tracey Ann Jacobson has declared that she’s hoping that parliament will be called in session this week and that the speaker of parliament will be elected.
This is the first declaration of the US ambassador, following the one where she expressed her anger at the current situation, by addressing Kosovo leaders in the Albanian language with the following: Don’t screw this up!
On Monday, the ambassador said that she’s sorry of someone has felt insulted by her words, but according to her, time had come for strong messages to be addressed to political leaders.
She said that after her declaration, a change was noticed within the opposition Bloc, which led to the opposition to give up on the post of the speaker of parliament.
In the “Speak Openly” debate, the US ambassador had accused political leaders for corruption, nepotism and a country on the brink of financial collapse, as a result of their behavior after the parliamentary elections. /ibna/
