NATO Secretary General, Jens Stoltenberg, declared today in Pristina that “the issue of the creation of Kosovo Armed Forces (KAF) is a domestic issue for the authorities of Kosovo”.
NATO chief has issued these comments following the meeting that he head with KFOR commander, general major Francesco Paolo Figliuolo, KFOR troops and main representatives of the international community in Kosovo.
On this occasion, Mr. Stoltenberg added that NATO will continue to support the development of KAF.
Stoltenberg has also praised the work of KFOR in Kosovo.
“KFOR mission is a success story, bearing in mind that 16 years ago, there was a war here and now, Kosovo is a safe country”, said he.
Meanwhile, as far as the fight against terrorism is concerned, Stoltenberg, stressed that terrorism is a general threat.
During this visit, Stoltenberg is also expected to meet with the president of the Republic of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga, with prime minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa and the deputy PM and Foreign Minister, Hashim Thaci. /ibna/
