Statistics institute: Bulgaria’s exports rose 1.4% in January – October 2018

The total value of all goods exported from Bulgaria from January to October 2018 was 1.4 per cent higher than in January to October 2017, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said on December 11.

In the period January – October 2018 the total value of all the goods exported from Bulgaria amounted to 46 039.8 million leva, the NSI said.

In October 2018, the total exports of goods added up to 5 376.1 million leva and increased by 7.4 per cent compared to the corresponding month of the previous year.

The total value of all the goods imported into Bulgaria in the period January – October 2018 amounted to 52 343.2 million leva (at CIF prices), 8.1 per cent more than the same period of 2017

In October 2018 the total imports of goods increased by 13.6 per cent compared to the same month of the previous year and added up to 6 198.0 million leva.

The total foreign trade balance (exports FOB – import CIF) was negative in the period January – October 2018 and amounted to 6 303.4 million leva

In the period January – October 2018 the exports of goods from Bulgaria to third countries decreased by 12.9 per cent in comparison with the same period of 2017 and added up to 14 442.9 million leva.

The main trade partners of Bulgaria were Turkey, China, Serbia, the United States, the Republic of Macedonia and the Russian Federation which accounted for 53 per cent of the exports to non-EU countries.

In October 2018, the exports of goods from Bulgaria to third countries increased by 9.1 per cent compared to the corresponding month of the previous year and amounted to 1 926.7 million leva.

The foreign trade balance of Bulgaria (export FOB – import CIF) with third countries in the period January – October 2018 was negative and added up to 4 662.7 million leva,
