Statement of Albanian MEFA on the hate speech used in inscriptions in public spaces in Manastir

The Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Albania expresses its regret and condemns the hate speech used in inscriptions in public spaces in Manastir, addressed to Albanians. It is not the first time that Manastir, the city of the historic congress of Albania language, is deliberately and unacceptably violated by acts that seek to induce hatred, disruption, and foster tensions between communities.

The Albanian MEFA urges the Macedonian authorities to investigate and the perpetrators must be held accountable for these attacks, which are in contrast with the spirit of coexistence and harmony in Macedonia and across the region.
