5 out of the 9 members of the State Election Commission in FYROM have addressed a public letter to the Speaker of Parliament, Trajko Veljanovski that there are no suitable conditions to hold elections on June 5.
According to the Electoral Code, once the Speaker of Parliament announces the elections and delivers the decree to the Commission, the members of this institution must reply as to whether the conditions for elections have been met or not.
The members of the State Election Commission have declared that there are no suitable conditions for the elections.
Based on their reasoning, the ballot paper has only one party in it and that this is unconstitutional.
This letter has been signed by the chairman of the State Election Commission, Aleksandar Cicakovski, vice chairman Rexhep Prekopuca, representatives of SDSM, Igor Milev and Violeta Duma and member of BDI, Subhi Jakupi. But this letter has not been signed by other members of SEC, which come from the ranks of VMRO-DPMNE and PDSH. /balkaneu.com/
