St. Clement of Ohrid day is celebrated today in FYR Macedonia. This is a national holiday, which celebrates the work of the writer and the first Slav illuminist.
Today there are many churches, institutions, schools and associations that hold his name and among them are the National Library in Skopje and University of Manastir.
His name is also shared by the University of Sofia. In honor of St. Clement of Ohrid, awards were given today in Skopje for achievements in education, culture, science and health.
This year’s winners are the historian Ahmet Sherif and bio-chemist, Velimir Stojkovski in the domain of education and academic Cvetan Grozdanov, historian of medieval art, in the domain of culture. /ibna/
