Prosecutor Katica Janeva has been appointed in the post of Special Prosecutor in FYR Macedonia, in the framework of the talks taking place between the four main political parties in the country.
The appointment of the Special Prosecutor is part of the agreement for the solution of the political crisis in the country and this prosecutor will investigate the wiretapping affair made public by Macedonian opposition.
After the negotiations, which were finalized in the early hours of this morning, sides agreed on voting the bill on the Special Prosecution. The new prosecutor will appoint his collaborators, as it was proposed by international intermediaries in these negotiations, that were held under the pressure of the international community.
Part of the talks were US ambassador, Jess Baily, EU ambassador, Aivo Orav, EU envoy, Peter Van Hoyte and EU Enlargemtn Commissioner, Johannes Hahn.
Katica Janeva is a prosecutor from Gevgelija and she has professional experience in the Court of Strasblurg. /ibna/
