Special Prosecution in Skopje has announced today the first case called “Titanic”, for charges relating to electoral rigging and the suspects in this case are former minister of Interior and former minister of Transport and Communication.
For this, Prosecution is demanding for 8 people to be remanded in custody.
Prosecutor Fatime Fetai declared that an inquest has been launched for criminal cooperation, violation of the right of vote, destruction of electoral materials and misuse of funds for the electoral campaign of 2012.
Fetai said that the former ministers of Interior and Transport and former government secretary along with other individuals, have exploited their influence on a local and state level and have created groups which have carried out these offenses, in order to enable a particular party to win the elections.
In the press conference, the prosecutor declared that these criminal offenses receive a minimum of 3 years of imprisonment. /ibna/
