The vice chairman of PDK and Speaker of the Parliament of Kosovo, Kadri Veseli will lead the biggest parliamentary party in Kosovo until the holding of the next convention, which was proposed on May 7 of this year.
Veseli’s appointment has come after the current leader of PDK, Hashim Thaci has resigned from every party position following his election as President of the Country.
In his address before the party’s council, Kadri Veseli said that PDK and its historical leader, Hashim Thaci has achieved many successes.
“Today, I want to say that PDK is the biggest party in the country and will remain the biggest one for a long time”, he added.
Veseli has also congratulated the new president for his election and promised that the new party leader will be elected in a transparent and democratic process.
The party’s council was also addressed by the vice chairman of PDK, Enver Hoxhaj. He stressed the fact that after 17 years, this was the first meeting held without Hashim Thaci.
“His election as a president and the voluntary abdication of the mandate is a new political momentum and represents a turn for the country and PDK”. Hoxhaj said among others.
The secretary general of PDK, Basri Musmurati proposed the holding of the convention on 7 May to elect the new leader. According to him, around 700 delegated will participate in this convention. /ibna/
