All the unions of greek workers and employees agreed on strikes against the unpopular social security bill. In a meeting (ADEDY, public sector, GSEE, private sector, ESIEA, journalists and other unions) decided on common action against the bill. Also lawyers, doctors and self-employed oppose the new bill and decided a series of strikes. ADEDY organizes a demonstration for next Saturday, January 16, in Omonoia square in Athens.
As the representatives of the unions put it, this bill is “casus belli” and there will be a series of strikes starting probably around the 27th of January.
Lawyers are already on strike for three days now for the same bill and tomorrow they will decide for the extended abstention from their duties.
