Small political parties in Albania are trying to get the head of the ruling party, Edi Rama and the head of the opposition, Lulzim Basha to sit down in an attempt to find a solution to the political crisis that the country has been going through in the past three months.
“Political leaders must sit and find a solution”, said the leader of the Republican Party, which is part of the opposition, Fatmir Mediu.
However, the opposition leader, Basha has declared that he is not willing to engage in dialogue with Edi Rama, but his allies believe that the democrat leader must accept him as part of the solution because Edi Rama would be sitting on this table not as a prime minister, but as chairman of the Socialist Party.
Meanwhile, the leader of the Democratic Party neither confirmed, nor denied the possibility of sitting down with the head of the ruling party.
“The opposition coalition has a very strong collaboration. The main thing that we demand is for Edi Rama to leave the government and for a temporary government to be formed”, Basha said.
On Tuesday, Basha’s allies will ask the president to call a meeting between political sides in the country. If this meeting is held, then this is expected to mark a new turn for political developments in the country. /ibna/
