Rapidly continued on Wednesday morning for the second day, the forwarding of refugees and migrants from the informal settlement of Idomeni to organized accommodation facilities in Northern Greece.
On Tuesday, the first day of large-scale operations, were transported by 42 buses, a total of 2,031 refugees and migrants in reception centers in former industrial facilities of Thessaloniki (Sindos, Kalochori, Oreokastro, Derveni), as well as in organized structures Vagiochori Volvi, in N. Kavala Kilkis and Petra Olympus.
The process progresses so far smoothly and as planned. It is expected to continue in the coming days until Idomeni has been evacuated completely.
Part of the operation is clearing the railway lines in order to reopen soon.
With the continuation of the refugee transportation company, which is in progress, it is feared that only the most hardcore immigrants-refugees may create episodes, so the police has devised a specific plan to address possible violent behaviour on the part of those transported to the centers.
