Slovenian Prime Minister Miro Cerar visited Berlin yesterday, with economic ties being high on the agenda. Slovenian PM’s visit to Germany and his meeting with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, is his first official meeting with a head of government.
Accompanying Cerar was the new Finance Minister Dušan Mramor, who is scheduled to meet with his counterpart Wolfgang Schäuble.
Germany is Slovenia’s biggest trade partner, absorbing around one fifth of its exports, while it is also one of the biggest investors in Slovenia. Last year, trade between the two countries exceeded EUR 8.6bn.
What’s more, german companies are interested in participating in Slovenia’s privatisation process, notably in the fields of telecommunications, infrastructure and insurance.
