Slovenian Foreign Minister Karl Erjavec is on an official visit to South Korea, where he is expected to meet with his South Korean counterpart Yun Byung-se and Speaker Chung Ui Hwa, while he is also scheduled to meet a Parliamentary Group for friendship with Slovenia.
High on the agenda are said to be the strengthening of economic cooperation and friendship between the two countries, with a focus on improving trade relations. For this reason Erjavec is accompanied by a business delegation of the slovenian automobile industry, which would seek to deepen its cooperation and benefit from the experience and knowledge of their Korean partners, who have vast experience in the area.
On the sidelines of the visit, a Slovenian-Korean commission set up under the 2014 agreement on economic and trade cooperation will hold its maiden session.
Trade between Slovenia and South Korea topped EUR 426m in 2013, of which Slovenia’s exports to Korea stood at EUR 40m and imports at EUR 386m.
