Foreign ministry officials and heads of the Slovenian diplomatic missions abroad will meet on Monday at Bro estate for the 19th annual three-day consultation.
According to the Foreign ministry, the gathered diplomats will focus on Slovenia’s role in the diplomatic arena, the economic diplomacy and the need for Slovenia to have a common foreign policy.
Consults and ambassadors will hold consultations with Foreign ministry officials, industrial associations and companies, in order to find the best ways to utilise the country’s diplomatic network abroad.
Slovenian diplomats will also receive guidelines for the coming period, according to sources from the Foreign ministry.
The meeting will be opened by Foreign Minister Karl Erjavec, while Prime Minister Miro Cerar will also speak on the first day of the proceedings.
President Borut Pahor is due to address the diplomats on Tuesday and Speaker Milan Brglez on Wednesday.
The final day will be dedicated to topical issues concerning the economy and infrastructure, while Erjavec will once again address the meeting.
