Teja Gregorin crossed the line third in the women’s 10km biathlon pursuit event on Tuesday, to claim the third medal for Slovenia in the Sochi winter Olympic games.
the 33-year-old athlete was in 10th place 2km before the finish line, but managed to find the strength to produce an outstanding performance that gave her the third place. She moved from 6th to 3rd place in the final 5 minutes of the race.
The event was dominated by Darya Domracheva of Belarus, who crossed the line in 29:30.7, with Tora Berger of Norway finishing second, 34 seconds behind Domracheva, while Gregorin crossing the line 42 seconds behind the winner.
this is the second bronze medal for Slovenia in these Winter Olympics, since Vesna Fabjan also won the bronze in the women’s cross country pursuit earlier on Tuesday afternoon.
