Slovenia: The value of industrial production in Q1 2021 3.0% higher than in Q1 2020

The total value of industrial production, total turnover in industry and the total value of stocks were higher in the first quarter of 2021 than in the same period of 2020. The value of industrial production in March 2021 was 1.0% lower than in February 2021, Slovenian Statistical Agency said in the press release.

In March 2021, the total value of industrial production was 1.0% lower than in February 2021. It was lower in mining (by 3.4%) and in manufacturing (by 1.3%) and higher in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning (by 2.3%).

The value of industrial production in the first quarter of 2021 was 3.0% higher than in the same period 2020. It increased in manufacturing (by 3.5%), while in mining and in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply it decreased (by 2.0% and 2.5%, respectively).

In March 2021, total turnover in the industry was lower at the monthly level by 1.2%. It decreased in the foreign market (by 2.2%) and increased in the domestic market (by 0.6%). Turnover at the monthly level decreased in manufacturing (by 1.3%) and was higher in mining(by 6.9%).

Total turnover in the industry in the first quarter of 2021 was 4.1% higher than in the same period of 2020. It increased in both the domestic and foreign market. It was higher in manufacturing and in mining (by 4.2% and 2.2%, respectively). According to main industrial groupings, turnover increased in intermediate goods industries (by 8.9%) and in capital goods industries (by 6.0%) and decreased in consumer goods industries (by 3.9%).

In March 2021, the total value of stocks in industrial production was 0.7% higher than in February 2021. It was higher in all three main industrial groupings. It also increased in the first quarter of 2021 compared to the first quarter of 2020, by 0.6%.
