Slovenia: The value of industrial production in August 2021 1,1% higher than in July 2021

The total value of industrial production, total turnover in industry and the total value of stocks in August 2021 were higher at the monthly level.

“In August 2021, the total value of industrial production was 1.1% higher than in July 2021. Statistically, it was higher in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply and in manufacturing (by 7.2% and by 1.2%, respectively) but lower in mining and quarrying (by 10.1%),” state Agency for statistic said in the press release.

The value of industrial production increased at the monthly level in capital goods industries and in intermediate goods industries (by 5.7% and by 0.6%, respectively) and decreased in consumer goods industries (by 1.9%).

Compared to August 2020, the total value of industrial production in August 2021 was higher by 8.4% mostly in manufacturing (by 9.8%) and in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (by 1.4%); in mining and quarrying it was lower. Compared to August 2019, the total value of industrial production in August 2021 was higher by 5.7%.

In August 2021, total turnover in the industry was higher at the monthly level by 5.5% (in manufacturing it was higher by 5.4% and in mining and quarrying by 22.4%). It grew in both the non-domestic and domestic markets (by 6.0% and by 3.0%, respectively).

Turnover at the monthly level grew in all three main industrial groupings, the most in capital goods industries (by 12.0%), followed by intermediate goods industries (by 3.7%) and consumer goods industries (by 0.3%).

Compared to August 2020, total turnover in the industry in August 2021 was higher by 16.9%. In manufacturing, it was higher by 17.1% and in mining and quarrying by 3.4%.

Compared to August 2019, total turnover in the industry in August 2021 was higher by 10.1%.

In August 2021, the total value of stocks in industrial production was 1.5% higher than in July 2021 and 8.6% higher than in August 2020. Compared to August 2019, too, the total value of stocks was higher (by 9.5%).
