Slovakia’s Foreign Minister, Miroslav Lajcak says that dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade must continue, stressing that the agreement which may be achieved must be respected.
Amongst others, Lajcak said that Kosovo must form the Association of Serb-majority Municipalities.
“This is a friendly message which is supposed to help governments. Dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina must continue in order to yield concrete results. Agreements must be respected. If the sides have agreed on the formation of the Association of Serb-majority Municipalities, then this needs to be done”, Lajcak said.
Meanwhile, Slovakian top diplomat also said that Serbia must continue its reforms to strengten rule of law, fight against corruption and the media.
The US embassy to Belgrade has also stressed that the Association must be formed.
The embassy said a few days ago that the commitments undertaken in the Brussels Dialogue must be undertaken.
“The United States supports the full implementation of all commitments undertaken in the Brussels Dialogue. That also includes the obligations regarding the formation of the Association of Serb-majority Municipalities”, the US embassy posted on Twitter.
Meanwhile, in Kosovo there are objections about the formation of the Association. President of the country Hashim Thaci has initially declared that he will not allow the formation of any Association, after which he has declared that Kosovo will respect the agreements reached in Brussels. /ibna/
