Government in Skopje is ready to participate in the construction of the railroad linking Budapest to Thessalonica. This railroad also goes through Belgrade and Skopje.
PM Nikola Gruevski is in Serbia, where he confirmed that he will participate in the joint meeting with the prime ministers of China, Serbia and Hungary.
The main topic of the meeting which will be held in the framework of the Summit between China and Central and Southeast Europe, will be the project for the construction of the railroad linking Budapest to Thessalonica.
Gruevski has expressed the readiness of his government to be involved in this big railroad project for the Balkan.
“It’s evident that the railroad from Greece to Hungary is a priority for the Chinese side. This requires the collaboration of all the states where this railroad goes through, Hungary, Serbia, Macedonia and Greece. We’re ready to collaborate and talk about the details and how all of this operation will be implemented, the deadlines and the terms”, declared from Belgrade PM Gruevski.
FYR Macedonia is one of the first Balkan countries that exploits the funds of Chinese bank Exim Bank for the construction of the highways linking Kercova to Skopje and Skopje to Shtip.
Cooperation of the People Republic of China with the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, started three years ago in Budapest, while it continued with meetings in Warsaw in April 2010 and Bucharest in November last year.
China is also investing in Montenegro. In the past few days, an agreement was also concluded with Albania, while more investments are expected to spread in other countries of the region. /ibna/
