A court in Skopje has handed down prison sentences today for the 17 defendants accused of the violent incidents taken place two years ago in the Parliament of North Macedonia where numerous MPs from the then opposition were physically attacked.
The longest prison sentence was handed down to former Interior minister and former police commissioner, Mitko Cavkov. Cavkov was sentenced to 18 years in prison.
Judge Dobrilla Kacarska said that the events taken place on April 27 caused much fear and insecurity amongst the population. She also said that the perpetrators were conscious about their acts. /ibna/
