The leader of the Democratic Union for Integration (BDI), Ali Ahmeti received today in the party’s head office the ambassador of the European Union in Skopje, Aivo Orav.

Ambassador Orav congratulated Mr. Ahmeti on the result achieved in the April 27 elections and the electoral process in general.

The two interlocutors said that they discussed about the holding of negotiations and the constitution of institutions after the elections, good neighboring relations, the solution of the name dispute and integration of the country in the NATO and EU.

Chairman Ahmeti said that Albanian citizens have justly evaluated the platform of the Democratic Union for Integration. He said that the party that he leads has asked voters to vote for this party for the integration of the country in the NATO and EU, for better cross neighboring and cross ethnic relations and for economic development.

“BDI policies are affirmative and all citizens benefit from our joint projects, regardless of the ethnicity and religion. The talks which have been launched by the parties which have earned absolute legitimacy among both communities, BDI and VMRO-DPMNE are heading toward the harmonization of the electoral platforms and viewpoints for the future of the country and to take great responsibilities for this term”, said Ahmeti after the meeting.

According to him, Euro Atlantic integrations are a priority of BDI. Ahmeti invited “the friends from Brussels and Washington” to work together in order to accelerate this process ahead of the NATO summit in September. /ibna/
