Shooting has kicked off today in Ohrid for the film “Father”, a joint production of Germany, Kosovo and FYR Macedonia, directed by Visar Morina.
Through the unique character of Nori, the ten year old boy who is obliged to grow up at a very young age, the film offers a different narration on Kosovo in the ‘90s.
“Nori suffers great losses and he bravely faces his fate. But, after the early death of his mother, he cannot accept to be abandoned by his father, Gezim. Nori’s character shows extreme depth and he offers the narration of a refugee”, says Morina.
Skopje Film Studion, Niko Film from Germany and Dardha Produksion from Kosovo are the responsible studios which will produce this movie.
The movie is supported by West German Broadcasting, Film und Medienstiftung, German Federal Film Board, Kosovar Film Center and Film Agency in FYROM.
An international team is working on the movie and each of the countries has its representative.
“Ohrid and its surroundings have been seen as the appropriate location for the film to be shot while the challenge for the team will consist on the special scene during the night in the waters of the Ohrid Lake”, says Studio Skopje Film. /ibna/
