Croatia is close to bankruptcy, news website Index suggests after hearing some well-known economic analysts in the country.
Finance Minister Slavko Linic has shocked some 75,000 small business owners on Tuesday deciding to block their companies for tax debts that are sometimes just 3,000 Croatian kuna or less than 500 Euro.
“Minister Slavko Linic sends us a message that Croatia is close to bankruptcy. And things are done in the totally wrong way. Tax system needs to be reformed. When the government started to miss money they’ve raised up taxes. They should have to make sure everyone pays taxes and not increasing taxes”, economic analyst Guste Santini has said.
