Around 200 students of the University of Pristina based in Mitrovica, protested on Wednesday at 12:44 (as a symbol of Resolution 1244) near the northern corner of the main bridge on Iber river, against the eventual admission of Kosovo as a member of UNESCO.

The students have held Serb flags and banners with slogans “No to Kosovo in UNESCO”, etc. The protest ended without any incidents.

Meanwhile, UNESCO’s Executive Board will decide today on the proposal to accept Kosovo in this important organization.

The final decision will be taken in the general assembly which will be held in November, but if today’s decision is a positive one, then admission is a sure thing.

Meanwhile, Serbia’s president, Tomislav Nikolic declared today that he’s expecting UNESCO’s decision on Kosovo not to be a positive one for Serbia.

Nikolic said that Serbia will continue to fight against Kosovo’s accession and that the General Assembly of November will be used to convince member countries to postpone this decision until 2017. /ibna/
