Serbia’s Chief of Kosovo Office: We are negotiating with the internationals rather than Prishtina

Prishtina, 15 April 2013 by Tinka Kurti

Head of Serbia’s Kosovo Office, Aleksandar Vulin, says Serbia is negotiating with the international community rather than with Kosovo’s Prime Minister Hashim Thaçi and Kosovo’s team. According to Vulin, Thaçi does not have much saying in these negotiations.

Meanwhile, Vulin repeated that Serbia wishes to continue dialogue on Kosovo, even direct dialogues, unlike Hashim Thaçi who only favors mediated dialogue.

“Belgrade is in favor of dialogue with Prishtina and that wishes for a solution, after its arguments are listened to,” said Vulin.

According to him, “it is unserious of Mr.Thaçi to behave so erratically: to threaten with war one day and say that he doesn’t want to negotiate, the next day,” said Vulin.

Kosovo’s Prime Minister Hashim Thaçi said he is willing to continue dialogues. He does not wish to proceed with negotiations without an intermediary, as Serbia has proposed.
