Serb authorities have released today the chief of the Kosovo Police for Mitrovica, Nehat Thaci.
This was confirmed by the advisor of Kosovo’s Foreign Minister, Bashmir Xhemaj.
“Mr. Thaci will soon come to Kosovo and will join his family”, Xhemaj said.
Thaci was arrested on 29 September at the border crossing point of Koncul, based on an arrest warrant of the Supreme Court in Nis, on suspicion of terrorism.
Serb authorities had remanded him in custody for 30 days.
After Thaci’s arrest, parliament of Kosovo approved a resolution which demanded his immediate release and it also demanded to “the European Union to exert pressure on the government of Serbia for Thaci’s release”. /balkaneu.com/
