US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said today that Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić had made a major move when Serbia joined the United States, Germany and Britain in an effort to quell Hezbollah’s activities.
“A big move by President Vučić”, Pompeo wrote on Twitter, adding that Hezbollah’s European operations are collapsing like dominoes.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić thanked Pompeo and said that Serbia would remain steadfast in its pursuit of peace and stability.
“Rest assured, dear friend, that we remain steadfast in the pursuit of peace and stability, thus contributing to global security”, Vučić wrote on Twitter.
Serbia’s announcement that it will classify Hezbollah as a terrorist organization will further help limit the terrorist group’s ability to raise funds and operate in the region, according to the US Secretary of State.
On September 11, the Serbian President had a telephone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the recognition of Hezbollah as a terrorist organization is included in the strengthening of Serbian-Israeli relations, while the transfer of the Serbian embassy to Jerusalem is expected to follow, as stated in the agreement signed in Washington for the normalization of the Belgrade-Pristina economic relations./ibna
